SEC-FAC – Security Awareness Seminar for Facility Personnel
DURATION: 4 hours in 1 Day
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This seminar is for personnel that do not have specific security duties as outlined in 33 CFR 105.215 “Security Training for all Other Personnel.” Elements included are: Relevant provisions of the Facility Security Plan (FSC); The meaning and consequential requirements of the different MARSEC Level as they apply to the facility; Recognition and detection of dangerous substances and devices; Recognition of characteristics and behavioral patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security; Techniques used to circumvent security measures; Access Control (facility, ship, and personal identification requirements).
SEC-MAR – Maritime Professional Security Awareness Seminar
DURATION: 5 Days
COURSE DESCRIPTION: In this seminar, mariners are led through an examination of the history of terrorism and the technology critical to understanding and coping with potential terrorist acts. Terrorist practices are discussed, with a focus on situations that professional mariners may encounter in the performance of their duties. Proactive and reactive courses of action are suggested, as well as relatively simple means of changing daily routines to reduce vulnerability. Informational sources are identified and reporting responsibilities are addressed.
SEC-MAR-PRO – Maritime Security Professional Training
DURATION: 5 Days

SEC-MAR-PRO – Maritime Security Professional Training
DURATION: 3 Days
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The international Ship and Port Security Code (ISPS), the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 (MTSA), and the Code of Federation Regulations (CFR) mandate training for port facility personnel with specific security duties. In response, GMNI has developed a 5-day training program designed for port facility security guards to comply with the standards of 33 CFR 205.210 and the intent of MTSA Section 109 and ISPS Code Part B, Section18.2. Maritime security and law enforcement professionals present this course.
Training begins with an overview of the new maritime security regulations and the role of the security guard in that process. Hands-on training focuses on the skills required to be effective at protecting the port from security breaches and incidents. Attendees also learn methods to screen/search individuals, vehicles, and spaces, and as well as the proper uses of standard security equipment.
SEC-OFF PCS – Security Officer For Port Company and Ship
DURATION: 3 Days
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 3 day, 21 hours course of instruction is designed to provide instruction and proficiency in
compliance with the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code for Port Facility, Company and Ship Security Officers (PFSO/CSO/SSO).
A candidate successfully completing the Port Facility, Company and Ship Security Officer
the program will be able to:- Describe recommended practices and procedures listed in current national and international regulations and policies regarding port and ship security.
- Develop a risk analysis based on available threat analysis, intelligence information and national regulations and policies.
- Identify characteristics and behaviour patterns of persons who may be likely to commit unlawful acts.
- Recognize and detect weapons, dangerous substances and devices.
- Identify common crowd behaviours.
- Develop and implement a port facility and vessel security plan.
- Demonstrate the elements of a security assessment and propose modifications to the existing security plan.
- Demonstrate conducting physical searches of compartments, baggage and persons.
- Identify the basic principles for implementing an incident command system.
- Describe plans for managing ongoing threats, including theft, piracy and hijacking.
- Identify types of security equipment usage & maintenance.
- Describe instructional techniques for training the crew and employees regarding ship security and port facilities.Attendees should bring coveralls suitable for searching ships spaces, Safety shoes or boots and heavy “work” gloves. Additionally, attendees should have computer skills in word processing and internet usage.
Shipboard experienced is preferred.SEC-SHPOFF – Ship Security Officers 3 Days (Ship Training)
DURATION: 3 Days
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 3 day, 21-hour course is designed to provide the attendee with the knowledge and proficiency to development plans and programs to be in compliance with the International and Port Security (ISPS) Code for Company and Ship Security (CSO/SSO).
A candidate successfully completing the company and ship security officer program will be able to:
- Describe recommended practices and procedures listed in current national and international regulations and policies regarding ship security.
- Develop a ship security assessment based on potential threats ide4ntified by a risk-based security analysis and an onboard security survey.
- Review elements of, and implement a vessel security plan in accordance with the international Ship & Port Security Code, US Coast Guard NVIVS and applicable
regulations.- Identify characteristics and behavior patterns of persons who may be likely to commit unlawful acts.
- Recognize and detect weapons, dangerous substances and devices.
- Identify common crowd behaviors.
- Demonstrate the elements of a security assessment and propose modifications to the existing security plan.
- Demonstrate conducting physical searches of compartments, baggage and persons.
- Identify types of security equipment usage & maintenance including Silent Security Alerts.
- Develop and review recommended training and drills requirements for ship’s crew with emphasis on security awareness and understanding of responsibilities under the vessel security plan.
- Describe actions to manage on-going threats, to include theft, piracy and hijacking. Demonstrate Incident Command structure.Attendees should be a licensed officer and have shipboard experience.
